The physicians and staff of Pain Medicine Specialists are committed to helping our patients with chronic pain achieve a better quality of life. We understand how devastating it can be to live with chronic pain. We offer an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to improve your physical function and mental health.

Providers

Dr. Gisele Girault, M.D.

Dr. Gisele Girault is an anesthesiologist, with Board Certifications in Anesthesia, Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
 

Dr. Girault attended Yale University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry. She received her Medical Degree from the Kansas University School of Medicine in 1990, and completed her residency in Anesthesia at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
 

She was a Clinical Instructor in Anesthesia at the New York Medical College and then worked in the private sector as an anesthesiologist for many years.
 

Dr. Girault completed a Fellowship in Pain and Palliative Medicine at Dartmouth University in 1999. She stayed on after her fellowship as Assistant Professor of Anesthesia and Medical Director of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Pain Medicine Fellowship program.
 

Dr. Girault has been involved in clinical research, and is a published author in Anesthesia literature. She has been in private practice in South Carolina since 2002.

Sabrina Terranova, PA

Sabrina Terranova is a physician assistant who graduated with honors in 2012 from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters of Medical Science degree. She previously attended Florida State University and received a Bachelors degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry, Pre-Medicine, and Spanish. She specializes in various procedures, including joint injections, nerve blocks, Botox injections, and nerve conduction studies. Her hobbies include doing crafts and traveling. She is eager to use her years of prior experience in Pain Management, Neurology, and Orthopedics to treating patients at Pain Management Specialists.

She is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner, proficient in the AMA Guides to Permanent Impairment Fifth and Sixth editions. Dr. Girault has performed impairment ratings, Workers’ Compensation physical exams, Consultations and evaluations for medical necessity forinterventional procedures such as Spinal Cord Stimulators and Radiofrequency Ablation.

COVID-19 Policy

Our practice is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and patients during the COVID-19 emergency. We are striving to provide exceptional patient care in a safe environment. We are updating our policies on a regular basis to keep in line with CDC and DHEC guidelines. We are offering telehealth visits in lieu of physical visits to our patients, when appropriate. We ask you to comply with our office policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
